ORGANIZATION NEWS

Hey everyone!  Our work in Uganda is growing so fast that I cannot keep up with it!  The school is just growing every time I talk to our chairman.  We just added an additional teacher to our staff now totaling 8 teachers and gained an additional ten students now totaling 140 students!!  We praise God that so many children who would have gone without education are being educated! The Father is...on the move!!  Please join us in this great move and opportunity to co-labor with Him!

Sunday night I was blessed to share at Belmont Heights Baptist Church!  It was a great night with a sweet Presence of the Lord.  Thanks for your prayers and encouragement concerning that.

I also wanted to announce that I'm going to be going on a tour with Chadasha Gospel Choir from May 19-28th!  This is a huge opportunity for me as I'll be able to share about the school and work in Uganda in four churches/1 university and show our video during the tour.  My hope and prayer is that people in these churches will feel God's heart for these children and be moved by compassion to give and partner with us!

Here is the tour itinerary:
May 21st- leave Nashville, go to Austin, TX- Ministering at Concordia University
May 22nd- leave Austin, go to San Angelo, TX- Ministering at First Baptist San Angelo
May 23rd- leave San Angelo, go to waco, TX- no ministry.
May 24th- leave waco, go to dallas- concert/ministry at Six Flags, stay in Frisco
May 25th- leave frisco, spend the day in Allen, TX- ministry at Good Shepherd UMC
May 26th- day in frisco, ministry at Frisco UMC
May 27th- leave frisco, go to Memphis, TN- no concert
May 28th- drive back to nashville

My Prayer Requests for the Tour:
1. That there will be a sweet fellowship and unity between me and the choir and among the choir.
2. That we will all hear and be led by the Spirit of God.
3. For divine protection and favor including all logistics of travel.
4. For Radical Compassion to be released through my words and that God will fill my mouth.
5. For the hearts of people to be saved, healed, delivered, and deeply ministered to through the worship and testimonies.

I also continue to ask for your prayers concerning the two CD Projects.  They are finished, being pre-ordered, and need to get ready for PRINTING!  Still moving in that direction!

I also ask for prayers concerning my mom who has decided to auction off her house after it has been on the market for a couple of months.  This will free her up to help more with the ministry and to just have more freedom in general.  Please pray for radical favor and blessing upon her and this move.

I spoke with the team in Uganda today and our school is already coming close to being overcrowded and many people want to send more children to our school!!  We believe it is time to start thinking (only thinking for now) about growing and expanding.  There are some opportunities for income generating projects as well that would require us to purchase land.  I believe this is God's plan for us, so we are just beginning to inch in that direction.  We also continue to believe God for financial partnerships that will allow us to place some of these children in a home that is just next to the school and available for $100/mth.  Obviously, all of that takes funds, but we have the amazing magnificent one and only JEHOVAH JIREH on our team!!!  haha!  YAY GOD!

I also ask for your prayers and blessing on me.  I have basically transformed into a faith walking nomadic suitcase carrying missionary on my own soil!  Even Jesus came into the world without a place to call home and had nowhere to lay his head.  For now I am well taken care of by my Heavenly Daddy and ...For the JOY set before me, I press on!!!

God bless you all!

In Christ Jesus my Lord,
Rebecca Sorensen

I'm so thankful for all God is doing lately. He is so faithful to me. He is so close an ever present help in time of need. Last week I was so blessed to be able to buy a car thanks to a wonderful Christian couple that have supported me and many others in missions. I bought it just in time to take a road trip...literally the day before I left! haha. God can be so last minute with me sometimes. I discovered that He is helping me to grow in patience...which usually requires...waiting. A new friend reminded me today that the "testing of our faith produces patience."  I think that scripture pretty much sums up the season that I am currently walking in. I have such big vision and dreams that the Lord has put in my heart and it is like seeing each step to get there, and they are tiny little baby steps that take forever! Obstacle after obstacle after hurdle.  I press on to receive the prize!
